Upcoming Interview!

Kimberley Payne interviewed me on her podcast called Health Matters–Healthy Spirit Healthy Body. It’s a show for women who want to improve their spiritual and physical health.

In the interview titled God, Gluttony & You, I talk about how gluttony is the ‘permissible’ Christian sin. Our lack of self-control is a blemish on our call to holy living. I want to bring us to an awareness of our responsibility in this area.

I invite you to listen on iTunes at http://apple.co/1bOTCX0 or on Stitcher Radio at http://bit.ly/HMStitcher  or Kimberley’s website at www.kimberleypayne.com.

The Health Matters Podcast interviews guest experts who agree that prayer & Bible study are to the spirit what exercise and healthy eating are to the body. If you liked my interview please help spread the word by leaving a rating and review on iTunes. Kimberley has written directions on how to do this at http://bit.ly/HMiTunesReview

Almond Butterscotch Delights

I used to eat these by the panful. Now I use my God-given sense of self-control and eat one at a time. So can you. Make a coffee and nibble the edges slowly…make it last! A Weight Watchers member enjoys every bit of their food and plans wisely…….

Makes 48 servings

12 large graham crackers about 5″by 2 1/2″

 1/2 pound butter

1 cup brown sugar lightly packed

1 cup almonds ,slivered

Line a cookie sheet (which has edges!) with parchment paper. Break the crackers along score lines. Each large cracker should make 4 smalller ones. Place crackers on cookie sheet.

Melt the butter in a saucepan and add brown sugar. Let boil for 2 minutes. Spread this mixture over the crackers. Sprinkle almonds (or other nuts) over top. If you don’t care about the calories…and at this point why would you…add a few chocolate chips.

Bake at 350F for 7 minutes. Let cool. Break apart and store in cookie tins. It is wise to separate layers with parchment paper.

You Will Want to Buy This Book!

Your Money God’s Way by Amie Streater

Our reviews are generally about 200 words. So far that’s been enough for me.I’ve never before appreciated a book so much that I wanted to write two reviews for it, just so I could use more words! This book is it.The solution? Buy the book- ASAP.This is tough love money talk from a pastor who cares about how God’s people handle money.
It is truth we all need to hear and it is not like any other money book you have read.
She tells us truth like this.
If you are just plain stupid with your money, it is not God’s fault.
If you aren’t grateful for what you have, you won’t be grateful for more.
How we use money is a barometer of our spiritual condition.
The problem is never money and the answer is always God.
Saying no to a controlling, manipulative person does not yield pleasant results. They will accuse you of lacking compassion, not caring and even question your salvation..all in the name of getting you to cough up assistance one more time. Buy the book. It will change your life..
I do wish it had a study guide to go along with it so easier taught.
