No I haven’t been to Bermuda, Hawaii or even Toronto. My head has been in my new book-Meeting Myself.
It’s almost done, but I am a basket case. Meeting Myself is snippets from a shattered mind. Mine. Truths I never wanted to see again surfaced into sight from a boiling pool of oil.
Thankfully that oil has changed from the type that made me cry ‘burn me into ashes, erase all these memories,’ into the healing balm of the Holy Spirit.
Hard to relive? For sure. Still Painful? Oh, yes. But doable? Absolutely.
I promised an agent that my book would be in the mail to her by December 15th. God and I are making that deadline together.
What is your healing deadline? What has God called you to face that seems unendurable? Whatever it is, God’s oil can get you through.

When I say… “I am a Christian”
When I say… “I am a Christian”
I don’t speak of this with pride.
I’m confessing that I stumble
and need Christ to be my guide.
When I say… “I am a Christian”
I’m not trying to be strong.
I’m professing that I’m weak
And need His strength to carry on.
When I say. “I am a Christian”
I’m not bragging of success.
I’m admitting I have failed
And need God to clean my mess.
When I say… “I am a Christian”
I’m not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
But, God believes I am worth it.
When I say… “I am a Christian”
I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.
When I say… “I am a Christian”
I’m not holier than thou,
I’m just a simple sinner
Who received God’s good grace, somehow.”

Did you ever have one of those days when it seems like God slept in or went to visit the neighbours instead of being available for your devotional time?
Or has God seemingly left you in all your pain and tribulation? Does it feel like He set you afloat in your own boat and He is not asleep in the bow?
I’ve been there too. But then I decided to believe God. God is who He says He is and He says He never will leave or forsake you (or me!)
Let’s stop relying on our feelings and head directly into our faith…

It should be me. I won’t even come up with a whale of a tale to pull you in. My poor old bible is now held together with duct tape and with a prayer.

I would love to win this book because I cherish books of beauty and substance. This one contains everything that I hold dear – deeper understanding of God’s Word, it’s availability to the common man, reminders of its endurance through generations, resources for my work and the thoughtfulness of a friend.
