Blues Clues

Remember that kid show called something similar?

Well I am about to tell you the Brenda’s inner child version of blues.

Avoidance, tears, tears, self-pity, over-tired, not writing, tears……food abuse. ( I saya to myself, why not abuse food it has abused me for years!!)

I could go on but why bore you unmercifully…..

Anyway the good thing is that common sense eventally reared its head….and not a minute too soon!

Proverbs 3:21-26-The Message

[ Never Walk Away ]  Dear friend, guard Clear Thinking and Common Sense with your life;  don’t for a minute lose sight of them.  They’ll keep your soul alive and well,  they’ll keep you fit and attractive.  You’ll travel safely,  you’ll neither tire nor trip.  You’ll take afternoon naps without a worry,  you’ll enjoy a good night’s sleep.  No need to panic over alarms or surprises,  or predictions that doomsday’s just around the corner,  Because God will be right there with you;  he’ll keep you safe and sound.

The Optimist Creed by Christian D. Larson

Thanks to author Christian D. Larson, who placed thoughts into words

To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.

To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.

To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.

To think only the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.

To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.

To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud words but great deeds.

To live in faith that the whole world is on your side so long as you are true to the best that is in you.

Wilds of Canada

Okay today I travel through the wild west of the snow belt to a speaking engagement tonight. Prayer would be great!

Meanwhile my brother is travelling to Thunder Bay, some of our family brave Toronto traffic and on it goes.

When your travel seems to be to places you don’t care to go, think of those who can’t go anywhere and be grateful.

Committees

Committee work is like a soft rocking chair

Give a body lots of personal flair

So easy to get into. So hard to leave

WIthout wearing your heart big on your sleeve.

Therefore select out from among yourselves, brethren, seven men of good and attested character and repute, full of the [Holy] Spirit and wisdom, whom we may assign to look after this business and duty.

Comment on New Tricks

One of my favourite shows is New Tricks, a story about three retired and aging policemen who work on ancient unsolved cases.  I beleive the names is from the saying. “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.

The Wedding Dress by Rachel Hauck

I wanted to peek ahead in The Wedding Dress to see how each of the ‘wearers’ of the dress made out but I made myself wait! The Wedding Dress is a great read. I do admit that you have to watch those chapter headings to be sure you know which bride you are reading about..but I enjoyed every minute of it.It’s a gentle sweet romance without being cloying or over the top naked sexy. Thanks to Thomas Nelson and Book Sneeze I got this free copy to review…Recommend it highly. Brenda J Wood-Snippets from a Binging and Bulging Mind

Here I Am Again

I’ve been missing you all! I have a new look to the page. Hope you like it.

As well you can now buy my books right off the site!

Just think, I got my own shopping cart without going to Walmart, Shoppers, or Zehrs.

Thanks to all of you who worried about me when I didn’t write.. You have no idea how much it means to me.

I finally made it to Iroquois Falls to visit our son, daughter-in-law and the darling Grands.

The ‘other’ mother-in-law (Lynn) and I ventured up the highway and only got lost once or twice. Both times were the fault of Missy, the GPS..

I asked Charles if any other mothers-in-law travelled together. His reply? “Probably, but they wouldn’t be talking!”

Lynn and I never stopped! What a wonderful time we had…..

Neither of us had seen their new house or the town, school, work place… did all that and missed the Tim’s restaurant…how did that happen!!
