Well Then?
“I am quite well, thank you m’lady,” Tucker replied. It was the only answer she had ever given to such a question, even when she had been ill or injured.
(quote from Dorcheter Terrace by Anne Perry. Published by Random House).
This is the statement from a woman in service, who recognised that she is well no matter what, simply because she has a wonderful master/mistress.
So as servants of the Living God, ought not that to be our response, since our Master is better than any human one?
“What kills a skunk —
“What kills a skunk is the publicity it gives itself.”
–Abraham Lincoln, 16th president of the USA.
So TELL me I am not alone in this!!!!
I have learned silence from the talkative, toleration from the intolerant, and kindness from the unkind; yet strange, I am ungrateful to these teachers. Kahlil Gibran
Titanic
The Titanic tragedy has captured our minds and hearts. How much do you know about it?
1. How many people were on the Titanic? (2224)
2. What did it cost to build the Titanic? ($7,500,000)
3. Where was the Titanic built? (Belfast, Ireland)
4. Who was its captain? (Captain Edward Smith)
5. How long did it take to sink? (Less than three hours)
6. How long did the bridge have to react after they saw the iceberg? (37 seconds)
7. What was the name of the rescue ship? (Carpathia)
Isn’t amazing that we care so much about a past tragedy and so little about a common every day one?
Every day, people die and go to hell. Thankfully God is patient.
2 Peter 3:9-The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
However, he is also very clear.
Luke 13:5-I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.”
John 3:14-16-And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish buthave eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (NKJV).
Prayer: Lord, give us sense to make a decision today and then share what we’ve learned with our neighbors and friends. For Christ’s sake. Amen.

PHT
I asked what she was working on at the moment.
“I’m working on my PHT right now,” she grinned.
I admitted I had no idea what she was talking about.
“Ha! I am Putting Hubby Through.” she smiled. “I have the job that pays the bills while he is getting his college degree.”
We both laughed at her little joke but I got to wondering how many of us are willing to take a back seat when others need help of one kind or another.
Even in this grief stage of my life, I’ve found a few who are less than supportive. They say things like, “I know how you feel. My dog died.” Or “Get over it for goodness sake. He had cancer. What did you expect?”
Maybe we expect too much. If we seek the degree, Putting Holiness Through, our every action and thought would be to be like Christ. We wouldn’t be thinking Please Hold Thought, Put Help There or whatever other PHT’s we come up with.
Prayer: Father God we need our PHT’s to be yours. Guide us through. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
