New Release in Kathi Macia’s 12 Days of Christmas Series – An Unexpected Glory is a delightful story about a Christmas pageant gone wrong. Or has it?

Pastor Steve is undone when he gets a phone call telling him the annual Christmas pageant has to be cancelled. It’s the main fundraiser for the men’s shelter he runs and he knows without a spectacular event they will have to close their doors. When his right-hand man suggests they use the residents to make it happen, Pastor Steve is sceptical. But as the day progresses and he runs from one potential disaster to another, God shows Him what miracles are really made of.

Fall Fair Fun

It is fall festival season again and communities celebrate everything from pumpkins to cranberries to cows. They include rides, tractor pulls and displays of handmade goods, but mostly, a festival is a gathering place to meet the neighbors. No one is rushing there.

If yesterday’s devotional about slowing down was hard for you to swallow, you might try going to a fall fair to get a sense of a slower life in progress.

After that, if you still can’t stop running from place to place, at least slow down in the following areas.

Let every man be …. slow to speak, slow to take offense and to get angry. (James 1:19, AMP)

Prayer- Lord may we always be moving slow enough to hear your voice. In Christ. Amen.

Call it Like it is!

We humans use fancy names for some not-so-nice things. For instance, the excrement of a worm is called a worm casting, while a bear exudes scat. Deer give off fewmets, foxes pass bilitts, and otters, spraints. While dogs release scumber, we call cattle manure offings and bat droppings guano.

Paul called it all dung.

Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, (Philippians 3:8, KJV)

Sin is anything that separates us from God. We can call it anything we like, but that doesn’t change what it is.

Prayer –Lord, show us what dung we cling to, help us to let it go and lead us to follow you 100%. Amen.
