Books and Bites a Success!!

A wonderful audience and the Cove’s terrific food made the day special! I shared the little I know about writing, then I read from the Pregnant Pause of Grief, the first trimester of widowhood and Meeting Myself, Snippets from a Binging and Bulging Mind. We laughed, a few of us cried but we  all enjoyed the day! Thanks to Debra at the Innisfil Library who co-ordinated and chaired the event!!

Consider This!

Adam’s Animals – Fun Facts About God’s Creation just released this spring!

Is your church running a Vacation Bible School (VBS) program this summer based on the Weird Animals curriculum? http://www.group.com/vbs/weird-animals

Consider using  Adam’s Animals along with the accompanying craft book, Super Simple Animal Crafts http://bit.ly/SuperSimpleAnimalCrafts in your Sunday School program leading up VBS. It’s a great resource for your church to generate interest in your summer programs.

Adam’s Animals is an entertaining and educational book that offers children loads of fun while they learn about the Bible.

Food Fraidy Cats

Our generation lives in a state of food fear based on weight loss, organic, raw, vegan, and more. Let these verses help you decide what is right for you personally (and NOT right for you to shove down the throats of others.)

What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth that is what defiles them.” (Matthew 15:11, NIV)

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31, NIV)

Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God. (Romans 14:6b, NIV)

I am convinced, being fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean. (Romans 14:14, NIV)

Therefore let no one sit in judgment on you in matters of food and drink, or with regard to a feast day or a New Moon or a Sabbath. (Colossians 2:16, AMP)

Prayer- Lord, give us wisdom not to follow the current trend but to seek your advice and then take it. Amen.

Common Sense is Dying in North America

We’ve been told recently not to wash our jeans. Instead we are to place them in the freezer (UGH!) to kill the smell (UGH!) and then wear them again. (UGH!) Some say they haven’t washed their jeans in a year or more. (UGH!)

Is it possible that these folks have fifty pairs of jeans and wear them once a year? Perhaps their particular jeans were not in sweaty conditions on a construction site, or did not endure baby slobbers and sand box trauma. Dirt is dirt. Common sense is dying a slow, painful death in North America.

When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise. (2 Corinthians 10:12b, NIV) The only word that is 100% true is the one God gave us.

Prayer- Lord, guide us in your truth and teach us for you are our God, our Savior and our hope. (From Psalm 25:5, NIV) Amen
